Prince Matei has its roots on the austere terraces and plateaus of two hills: Teganeanu and Zorilor. The 40+ year old vines, the clay, the gravel and the limestone creates the complex personality and finesse of this wine. The grapes are hand harvested and the first maturation process takes place in French oak barrels for 12 months, followed by a second maturation in the bottle, processes through which the wine refined the character that brought its fame.
