La Val uses 100% Albarino Rias Baixas. in a DO that only requires 80%. Grape translates roughly as "White from the Rhine", and was thought to have been brought to Spain by Cluny monks in the 12th century. La Val was a pioneer in planting Albarino in the Condado de Tea sub DO. They also employ Pergola training to encourage adequate ventilation in the rainy climate.
