Kraken Rum is a rum from the Virgin Islands and aged in oak barrels between 12 to 14 months. Mixed with 13 exotic spices - among which cinnamon, ginger and cloves stand out - that make up a secret recipe. dark rum, as black as molasses or squid ink. Nose: intense notes of chocolate, spicy aromas of coffee and cinnamon. Taste: The sweetness of chocolate, molasses, and vanilla mingle with the spices commonly associated with rum; clove, cinnamon, ginger and galangal. Finish: Slightly warm with a big vanilla punch, a hint of coffee, and a touch of pepper.

The Kraken is a giant squid and the most fearsome of all the monsters of the sea. This marine legend is a beast that lives up to 3,000 feet below the surface of the ocean and is known for its attacks on ships. Legend has it that a ship carrying a cargo of black spiced rum from the Caribbean to Norway never reached its destination because it suffered one of the Kraken's dreaded attacks. All the sailors were literally annihilated, as were all the barrels of rum the ship contained, except one, which was offered to the Queen of Norway as an apology for the lost cargo. Thus, this spiced rum that still gave off black ink from the attack was renamed Kraken, in homage to the undeniable power of this beast and its strength. As sailors often say: "Not respecting the Kraken is not respecting the sea".
